1950's belgian army coat

6/4/2014 2:15 PM

One of the best army jackets we ever found, another piece of art, museum worthy is this 1950's Belgian Army jeep style coat. It has been remade, adjusted, corrected, repaired many times. The fabric is a well worn down sturdy coated canvas with a woolen canvas liner. The jacket has loads of designer details with interesting stitches and strange shapes of panels and pockets. The inside of the jacket has two belts with unknown function. A designers dream piece!

French workwear jacket

6/3/2014 11:17 AM

The difference between the French and American workwear is the fabric, where the Americans used denim, the French used moleskin and cavalry twill cottons. A while ago we stumbled upon this beautiful French worker jacket which has been patched, stained, faded, repaired, reconstructed for ages. Partly made out of moleskin cotton and cavalry twill, this jacket is a piece of art. It has got multiple hand repairs, loads of patches and the natural wear and sun fading is insane. All the buttons are different and the jacket is still very wearable. We hate to see this piece of art go, it belongs in a museum!

Boro Bags

6/2/2014 6:23 PM

We made a limited serie of 5 bags made out of a 1920's Japanese indigo boro kimono. Literally translated as rags or scraps of cloth, the Japanese term boro is also used to describe clothes and household items which have been patched-up and repaired many times. Once clothing was made, it would be maintained throughout the owner’s lifetime, or perhaps even longer. We carefully reworked this beautiful fabrics into 3 roll top backpacks and 2 totes. Exclusively available our webshop. Click the image to visit our bag section.
