We made a limited serie of 5 bags made out of a 1920's Japanese indigo boro kimono. Literally translated as rags or scraps of cloth, the Japanese term boro is also used to describe clothes and household items which have been patched-up and repaired many times. Once clothing was made, it would be maintained throughout the owner’s lifetime, or perhaps even longer. We carefully reworked this beautiful fabrics into 3 roll top backpacks and 2 totes.
